This is the FAQ section of FOSS-Bridge. This section provides you answers to the mostly common questions related to the services /support provided by FOSS-Bridge and questions around "How to make joint business between Europe and Vietnam". Question 1 : Will there be more matchmaking events bringing together Vietnamese and European companies under FOSS-Bridge EU-Vietnam?

Question 3 : Does "free” software mean, that I do not have to pay for it?

Question 4 : What it the difference between “free” software and “open source” software?

Question 5 : I am programmer. Can I set my code under “FOSS license”?

Question 6 : I am programmer. Can I use GPL-code in my software product?

Question 7 : I want to order software. Do I have to pay for it, for example for Joomla?

Question 8 : I wrote a software and set it “FOSS”. Nobody is allowed to sell my software and make profit with it, but I want people use it for private purpose or research. What can I do?

Question 9 : I want to order software. I am familiar with closed software, but I hear about FOSS. Is it equal to proprietary products?

Question 11 : FOSS-software is cheap if you consider the license fee. But training costs accumulate. and fees to maintain the system are high. Additionnally, not everywhere in the world, awareness for paying for a license is given. Then, using closed or FOSS-software does not make a difference concerning the costs – Is FOSS still the cheaper choice?

Question 12 : FOSS has advantages concerning security and reliability. But not everywhere in the world, security is considered as very important fact. Why should I use FOSS for security reasons?
