What can I get out of Foss Bridge "EU-Vietnam" as a European FOSS company?
You will have the opportunity to

In whici field of FOSS applications and services can I tema up with a Vietnamese compnay?
Our Vietnamese partner companies mostly wish cooperation in the following technical fields: J2EE, Service Oriented Architecture & Enterprise Service Business, Web Portal (java based), Portlets, CMS, Business Intelligence, e-government systems. However, other fields of FOSS development are of potential interest as well. Please apply, we will find a suitable partner for you.
What does my company need to invest?
As a European company taking part in the programme, you should be willing to
§ send at least one developer/FOSS expert to
§ execute and supervise a two year collaboration process with one or more Vietnamese enterprise on a specific FOSS business project
§ invest in a sustainable partnership, monetary investments projected for flights and accommodation are approx. 3400 € per person (you may be eligible for financial support)
§ invest time/staff for matchmaking, online-collaboration, training and networking over the two years period
§ provide a report of joint activities with a Vietnamese company to
Can my company take part?
In order to take part in FOSS Bridge you should be a European enterprise or consortium of freelance developers set-up as a company. You should have a focus on FOSS products and/or services. You should have a minimum number of 5 developers/FOSS experts and your business strategy for internationalization should be consistent with the goals of FOSS Bridge.
Guideline and deadlines to apply
It is a very easy process :
1st step : You fill in the first part of the online form (Company name, headquarters address, web site and application contact). You receive very fastly an email of confirmation with a login and password that allows you to fill in your whole company profile.
2nd step: As soon as your profile is dully completed, you have to access to the others company profiles and to the matchmaking tools. Yon can start to Call and look for a partner.

FOSS Bridge "EU-Vietnam" has three main objectives to strengthen Southeast Asian software industries:
• Enable intermediaries of the Vietnamese IT-sector to spread key knowledge on how to make business with free and open source software
• Foster a Vietnamese software industry capable to provide localised FOSS applications and services to government and businesses – with SMEs serving as a national driver of technological innovation.
• Develop business partnerships between software players in Asia and Europe in order to grow mutual business and foster regional and international networking
Most importantly, Foss-Bridge "EU-Vietnam" is looking for experts within the participating companies for becoming lead trainer of the training sessions (remunerated). If your company takes part in Foss-Bridge "EU-Vietnam", you can apply to be a lead trainer here. We encourage all participating companies to nominate one possible lead trainer. (Only proposals of participating companies can be accepted, not of individuals.)
